First Wednesday is a group which began as a project launched by the Metropolitan Church in response to an increasing number of lgbt asylum seekers asking for both spiritual and practical support. The church continues to serve as the administrative charity and provides the practical support for the day-to-day running of the group.
Over the years, the group has received grant funding to resource its work and now functions largely independently of the church, although many members of the group are also members of the church.
Meetings previously took place at our church venue in Chorlton but, since November 2013, have been taking place at the Lesbian and Gay Foundation (LGF) in the city centre, and we are very grateful to LGF for their generous support.
