Young Roots work to improve the life chances of asylum seekers and refugees who are between the ages of 11 and 25. They run weekly youth clubs in Brent and Croydon, a girls’ club in Croydon, weekly football in Brent and trips out/holiday activities. Young people with a good level of English have the opportunity to become peer support workers/mentors to young people who have a lower level of English. Young Roots also offer casework services including support with immigration and housing issues, finding solicitors, accessing benefits, accessing healthcare and making referrals to other services.
