Description

Refugees at Home is a UK charity that connects those with a spare room in their home to refugees and people seeking asylum who are in need of somewhere to stay. Founded in 2016 in response to the Syrian refugee crisis, it has grown to become the UK’s largest independent hosting charity, finding rooms for more than 6,500 guests from 75 different countries. The organization recruits and supports volunteer hosts, carefully matches guests and hosts, assesses and prepares them for hosting, advises on hosting arrangements and accommodation, and provides ongoing support throughout each stay. The charity is led by CEO Lauren Scott MBE and COO Carly Whyborn, with oversight from a board of trustees chaired by Daniel Gerring.
