We provide psychotherapy to refugees and asylum seekers across Yorkshire and the Humber regions. Our specialist practitioners provide talking therapy through interpreters trained in this unique setting.
We support displaced people living with the effects of trauma and persecution. Across the region we work with individuals, families and children. As well as talking therapy, we provide group stress management sessions and a programme of pain management. Enabling individuals and families to access and stay with this support can take extra lengths, understanding, experience and skill – which is what makes Solace so unique.
Our main office is in Leeds, but our services cover Sheffield, South Yorkshire, Bradford, Kirklees and Calderdale, as well as outreach support throughout Yorkshire and the Humber region for children and families.
We have two full-time and twenty part-time or sessional therapists, plus a small number of volunteer and placement therapists who carry out the work.
In recent years, we have provided over 3,000 hours of therapy to more than 250 people year on year.
