Barnet Law Service provides free legal advice, casework and representation at court or tribunal, primarily to people who live, work or study in the London Borough of Barnet and usually by referral from advice agencies, Citizen's Advice Bureaux or other organisations. Every Thursday afternoon between 2 and 4 pm BLS holds a "drop-in" session for people seeking Immigration advice. You do not need to book an appointment, but clients are seen on a "first come, first served" basis and you may have to wait to be seen. These drop-in sessions are for people who are eligible for Legal Help so you need to bring a passport or other photo ID and proof of your income as follows:(a) If you are in receipt of benefits, letter from Job Centre Plus, HMRC, DWP etc relevant for the current month stating amount and type of any benefit received, (b) If you are working, pay slips for the last month, (c) If you have no income, a letter from whoever is providing you with board and lodging confirming the amount of support they give you, (d) Last month's bank statements.
