Hackney Migrant Centre is a charity that runs a weekly drop-in for asylum seekers, refugees and migrants. They offer free advice on immigration and problems and run a project in conjunction with Islington Law Centre to provide legal advice and representation to vulnerable migrants who no longer qualify for legal aid (e.g Article 8 cases). HMC also have a health advocate that can help with access to NHS services and GP registration. HMC welcomes asylum seekers, refugees and migrants from any nationality or immigration status. Interpreters can be booked if notice is given in advance. Open every Wednesday 10am-4pm. HMC can only see the first 40 visitors who are triaged between 11-12.30pm and then in for afternoon advice slots after lunch, between 1.00-4.00pm.
